The Best French Toast

French Toast topped with butter and maple syrup with a cup of hot coffee in the morning is my favourite! You can never go wrong with a classic breakfast. Brioche bread is soaked in a sweet egg mixture and cooked perfectly. This is the best and tastiest French Toast ever with the softest bread. Serve this with your preferred toppings for a simple breakfast meal.

I have tried many French toast recipes, and this is my favourite! It’s so simple, delicious, and perfectly cooked until golden. Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top, maybe maple syrup and butter, and serve with fruit among many other toppings.

Ingredients

4 large eggs

8 ounces (8 slices) of Brioche bread

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon brown sugar

dash of cinnamon, optional

Pinch of salt

How to make The Best French Toast

Step 1: Start by slicing the bread, then set the slices aside.

Step 2: Place the eggs, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, sugar, and salt in a deep and wide bowl. Whisk well until smooth, then set aside.

Step 3: Place a large cooking pan on the stovetop and preheat it over medium to medium-low heat. Once hot, drizzle a few tbsp of canola oil, spreading it evenly.

Step 4: Into the egg mixture, dip the slices of bread one at a time, coating even the edges. I recommend Brioche bread as it soaks nicely and quickly. Feel free to batter as many eggs that will fit into the pan. Make sure to butter the bread right before adding it to the pan.

Step 5: Cook the slices of bread for about 3 to 4 minutes per side or until golden brown, then serve with your preferred topping. Enjoy!

Note:

This recipe should batter about 8 slices of Brioche bread with around half to inch thickness. So this egg mixture will batter about 10-12 slices of French baguette or 6 or so slices of Challah.
