SPICY CHICKEN CHEESEBALLS

by Rebecca May 17, 2021

Prep time: 5 mins | Cook time: 25 mins | Total time: 30 mins | Yield: 48 BALLS

If you love sausage balls you’ll enjoy these Spicy Chicken Cheeseballs more! These are the new stars of the town! Eight ingredients and thirty minutes to make from start to finish. Easy to make with a few ingredients and come out excellent as expected. Serve as an appetizer for parties or make these for dinner. Pairs great with mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, peas, mac & cheese, and more.

These cheeseballs stole my heart. It has the perfect amount of heat that you can easily adjust according to your preference. Use the hot sauce brand I recommend in the ingredients list or if not available, use Sriracha sauce instead. You can even make this in advance. Simply follow the steps, cool the cheeseballs completely, and freeze.

INGREDIENTS

3 c. all-purpose baking mix Bisquick or Arrowhead Mills brands have both been tested

1 lb ground chicken

2 tbsp Tapatio Salsa Picante hot sauce

4 c. sharp cheddar cheese shredded

½ c. milk

½ tsp oregano

¼ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp onion powder

dash of salt and pepper

HOW TO MAKE SPICY CHICKEN CHEESEBALLS

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet and set it aside.

Step 3: In a large bowl, place the Bisquick, ground chicken, Tapatio Salsa Picante, shredded cheddar cheese, milk, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Using either your hand or with a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the ingredients. Then, into about an inch diameter small balls, form the dough.

Step 4: On the prepared baking sheet, place the cheeseballs and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and the internal temperature of the balls reached 165 degrees.

NOTE:

I used a large sheet pan to make this but the balls were touching. You can use two pans if desired.
