Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes is another dish that is close to my heart. This is part of our favourite and regular menu rotation for good reasons. Not only that this takes a breeze to make, but the result is superb! The ingredients needed to make these sloppy Joes are almost readily available. Most of all, this will surely make you forget about your childhood canned sauce memories! This mouthwatering Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes will make you fall for sloppy Joes again!

Ingredients

2 tbsp butter

1 lb lean ground beef

8 oz. brown mushrooms minced

1 small green bell pepper diced

1 small yellow onion diced

2 tbsp ketchup

1 c. beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp cornstarch

6 brioche hamburger buns

8 oz. Provolone Cheese Slices chopped (or use 6 ounces if you don’t want it very cheesy)

1/2 tsp Kosher salt

1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

How to make Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes

Step 1: To a large cast-iron skillet, cook the ground beef until brown, and about 50 per cent or so of the beef formed a deep brown crust, breaking the beef apart as it cooks.

Step 2: Set the beef aside when done, leaving the fat in the skillet.

Step 3: In the same skillet, add butter, onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes undisturbed. Stir and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, then stir again.

Step 4: Return the beef to the pan.

Step 5: Combine the beef broth with cornstarch in a small cup until well mixed. Add this to the pan along with the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Continue to cook for another 3 to 5 minutes or until the mixture is around 75 per cent above the liquid.

Step 6: Turn the heat off, then add the provolone cheese.

Step 7: Serve the sloppy Joes on toasted brioche buns. Enjoy!
