Magic Bars

by Rebecca January 5, 2022

Prep time: 10 mins | Cook time: 35 mins | Total time: 45 mins | Yield: 16-2 INCH BARS

This is a fun and seven-layer, gooey treat with coconut, chocolate chips, nuts, and a graham cracker base. A delicious dessert that is excellent for midnight cravings. I made tons of these magic bars during the Holiday, and everyone loves this perfectly sweet and gooey dessert! I even add in some raisins because why not? This easy recipe is a must and for keeps!

Ingredients

1 c. semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 c. unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs

1 – 14 oz. can sweeten condensed milk

1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

1 c. sweetened or unsweetened flaked or shredded coconut

How to make Magic Bars

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F and position the oven rack in the middle. Using a nonstick cooking spray, lightly grease a 9 x 9-inch square baking pan. Or use butter instead of nonstick cooking spray.

Step 2: Evenly pour the melted butter over the bottom of the prepared pan and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. Over the crumbs, sprinkle the coconut, then the chocolate chips, and nuts.

Step 3: Over everything, drizzle the sweetened condensed milk. Make sure not to mix. Just layer the ingredients.

Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake the bar for approximately 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the centre of the square comes out clean.

Step 5: When done, take the magic bar from the oven and transfer it to a wire rack. Let it cool before cutting the bar into squares. Keep them in the fridge or freezer.

Tips:

Feel free to mix and match your preferred kinds of nuts and chips like Butterscotch chips or White chocolate chips, then add them right in.

You can also use walnuts instead of pecans. The best nuts to use in my opinion are pecans, walnuts, cashews as they are softer and fattier.
