Juicy Stove Top Chicken Thighs

by Rebecca February 2, 2022

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 20 mins | Servings: 4

Deliciously pan-seared, golden, and juicy chicken thighs smothered in a delicious pan sauce. I cannot ask for a perfect weeknight dinner! Serve this with your favourite side dishes for an easy and quick meal that your whole family will love!

Ingredients

1 tbsp butter

1.5 lbs (about 6 chicken thighs) boneless skinless chicken thighs (you can also use chicken breasts)

1 1/2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp chilli powder

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp garlic powder

fresh chopped parsley for garnish

1/2 c. low sodium chicken broth (you can also use wine or juice)

salt and fresh ground pepper, to taste

How to make Juicy Stove Top Chicken Thighs

Step 1: Sprinkle the chicken thighs with onion powder, garlic powder, chilli powder, salt, and pepper.

Step 2: In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned chicken thighs to the skillet, smooth-side down, and cook for about 5 minutes or until the chicken can easily be flipped over. Turn the chicken on the other side and continue to cook for another 5 to 7 minutes or until the chicken has browned.

Step 3: To the skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Cook for approximately 30 minutes or until aromatic.

Step 4: Pour in the chicken broth and deglaze the pan. Cook for a minute more.

Step 5: When done, take the pan off the heat. Serve the chicken thighs right away garnished with some chopped parsley. Enjoy!

Notes:

For this recipe, I recommend using a large skillet that can accommodate about 4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs.

Make sure to cook the chicken on medium-high heat, undisturbed for about 5 minutes until you can easily turn the chicken over.

You can substitute the chicken broth with your favourite wine or apple juice.

Or use chicken breasts instead of chicken thighs.
