How to make Hot Kentucky Brown Sliders
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Melt a tbsp butter in a medium-sized pan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, whisk in the flour and cook until smooth and bubbly while constantly stirring. Gradually add in the milk, stirring until smooth. Then, add in a pinch of black pepper, nutmeg, and paprika. Stir, then bring to a boil until the sauce begins to thicken, stirring frequently.
Step 3: Take away from the heat, quickly add in the cheese, and stir until melted. Set aside.
Step 4: In a small bowl, place the butter. Heat in second increments in the microwave until the butter has melted completely. Then, stir in 1/4 tsp of each nutmeg and paprika.
Step 5: In a baking dish, place the bottom half of the slider buns, then brush the buns with half of the butter mixture.
Step 6: On the buns, add a layer of turkey, a slice of tomato, and a top with around 2 tbsp cheese gravy. Grab a piece of bacon and break into two, place them criss-cross over the gravy. Over the bacon, sprinkle half a cup of white cheddar. Top with the other half of the slider buns.
Step 7: Over the buns, brush the rest of the butter and spice mixture. Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, uncovered until the cheese has melted and the tops turned golden brown.
Step 8: If desired, top with extra butter and serve with the rest of the white cheddar gravy. Enjoy!
