1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe cake mix (can substitute yellow or French vanilla)
1 stick butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pkg cream cheese, room temp (8 oz)
1 egg
powdered sugar (for rolling dough into)
How to Make Gooey Butter Cookies
Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, butter, vanilla extract, and cream cheese using an electric mixer until incorporated.
Step 2: Once mixed, chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
Step 3: Then, roll the chilled dough in balls about walnut sizes and roll them in powdered sugar.
Step 4: Transfer the balls in an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 5: Place inside the oven and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes.
Step 6: Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool. When cooled, dust the cookies with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
