This is the best cornbread! Salute to my dearest mom for bringing this into my life. I grew up with this sweet cornbread. My mom used to make this for me when I was little and now that I have a family of my own, I intend to continue the tradition. My kids enjoy and love this as much as I do. And this recipe works as cornbread muffins, too! This is a big plus because my family is obsessed with muffins. So if you are looking for the best cornbread, this recipe is everything!

With readily available ingredients you can throw this together in no time! Moist, sweet, and super-easy cornbread to make. Perfectly sweet and excellent with some butter and honey on it. My favourite accompaniment to soup, stew, or beans and makes an amazing breakfast!

Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour

1 c. yellow cornmeal

⅔ c. white sugar

1 tsp salt

3 ½ tsp baking powder

1 Egg

1 c. milk

⅓ c. vegetable oil

How to make Golden Sweet Cornbread

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C.

Step 2: Ready a 9-inch round cake pan. Spray or lightly grease and set aside.

Step 3: Combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl. Add in the egg, milk, and vegetable oil. Stir well to combine.

Step 4: Into the prepared pan, pour the batter.

Step 5: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the bread comes out clean.
