Ingredients
150 grams macaroni
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 brown onion, diced
500 grams beef mince
2 carrots, peeled and diced
40 grams sachet French onion soup mix
1/4 c. tomato sauce
1 c. frozen peas
1 c. grated tasty cheese
How to make French onion savoury mince
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 180 degrees C.
Step 2: Ready an oven-proof baking dish. Grease and set aside.
Step 3: In salted water, cook the macaroni until just al dente. Drain the macaroni and set it aside.
Step 4: Heat oil in a large frypan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the onion to the pan and cook for about 4 minutes until soft. Add in the minced garlic and cook while breaking it apart using a wooden spoon until well-browned. Stir in the carrots and French onion soup mix. Then, pour in 2 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil. Decrease the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes before adding in the tomato sauce, peas, and drained macaroni. Stir to incorporate.
Step 5: To the prepared baking dish, transfer the mixture and top with cheese. Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes until golden and melted.
NOTE:
Season according to taste, taking into consideration that the soup mixes packer can be salty.
