DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD

by Rebecca June 1, 2021

PREP TIME: 10 MINS | COOK TIME: 1 HR | TOTAL TIME: 1 HR 10 MINS | SERVES: 8

Who here is with me when I say I cannot live without chocolate? Ever since I was young I always love chocolate. The richness and gooey texture of chocolate once it starts to melt in your mouth is just pure love. So everything with chocolate is a must! Like this Double Chocolate Banana Bread that always makes my heart skip a beat. Super moist, fun to make and eat with loads of chocolate chips. This is seriously one of the best loaves I’ve had!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c. butter, softened

1/2 c. brown sugar

1/4 c. white sugar

1 large Egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

3 medium bananas, mashed (about 1 c.)

1/4 c. sour cream

1 c. all-purpose flour

1/2 c. cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 c. milk chocolate chips

HOW TO MAKE DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BANANA BREAD

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. And using a non-stick spray, grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

Step 2: Into a mixing bowl, add the butter and sugars. Mix well until combined. Add in the egg along with vanilla, banana, and sour cream, beating until incorporated. Then, whisk in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3: Into the prepared pan, pour the mixture and sprinkle the chocolate chips on top, pressing them gently into the batter.

Step 4: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 70 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean. When done, remove from the oven and allow the bread to cool completely before slicing.

QUICK NOTE: For this recipe, I used a ceramic loaf pan to bake the bread. Remember that the baking time varies depending on the pan you are using (glass or metal pan). I suggest watching the bread closely and check using a tester before taking it out of the oven.
