How to make Cheesy Sausage and Egg Breakfast Sliders
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Over medium heat, warm a large skillet.
Step 3: Shape the sausage into 12 patties and make them a bit bigger than a dinner roll. Once the oil is hot, add the sausage into the skillet until cooked through.
Step 4: In the meantime, slice the rolls in half lengthwise using a serrated knife. Be careful not the break them apart. In a 7×10-inch or 9×13-inch baking dish, place the bottom half of the rolls and set the tops aside.
Step 5: On the bottom of the rolls, scoop the scrambled eggs and top with pepper jack. Add the sausage over the pepper jack followed by the American cheese. And top carefully with buns.
Step 6: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter and maple syrup. Brush this on top of the rolls and allow the sauce to drip down into the bottom.
Step 7: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted and bubbly.
NOTES:
Use a disposable foil pan or individually wrap the sliders in foil to keep them warm for tailgating.
This can be prepared ahead. When ready to serve or the following day, pop this in the oven.
