by Rebecca October 21, 2022
written by Rebecca

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 1 hr 20 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins | Yield: 4 Servings

These Pork Chops smothered in a delicious sauce never fail to make our dinner extra special! I just love the simplicity of this recipe. It only requires basic ingredients that I’m pretty sure you already have! You will not be disappointed with this recipe at all. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1/2 c all-purpose flour

2 tsp garlic powder

3 tbsp oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

2 c water

1/2 tsp paprika

8 ounces sliced button mushrooms

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 Pork chops 3/4 – 1-inch thick

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the seasoning mix. Whisk everything until well incorporated. Sprinkle about half of the mixture over the pork chops, then rub each until fully coated.

Sprinkle flour over the pork chops, then rub each again until fully coated. Remove any excess flour by shaking it.

Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Add the coated pork chops into the hot skillet, then sear each side for about 4 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and put them onto a clean plate. Cover them with something to keep warm.

In the same empty skillet, add the onions and sauté for about 3 minutes or until translucent. Sauté the mushrooms as well until soft.

Sprinkle the rest of the flour over the veggies, then whisk and cook for about a minute.

Add 2 cups of water, then scrape the bottom of the skillet to get the browned bits. Stir everything until well incorporated.

Add the rest of the rub mix, then stir until well blended. Allow the mixture to boil.

Bring the pork chops back into the skillet with the sauce, then toss until fully coated with the sauce.

Turn the heat down to low, then cover the skillet and cook the pork chops for one hour.

Serve and enjoy!

by Rebecca October 21, 2022
written by Rebecca

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 14 mins | Total Time: 24 mins | Yield: 4 Servings

The secrets to the perfect pork chops are the bacon grease and double coating them with flour! This recipe will guide you toward that! Ready in less than 30 minutes, this Classic Southern Fried Pork Chops recipe is surely a must-try!

Ingredients:

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, plus more to taste

4 bone-in pork chops

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon granulated onion

1 teaspoon kosher salt

4 bacon strips

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1/2 c vegetable oil

1/2 c all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon granulated garlic

Directions:

Add onion, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and granulated garlic into a mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well incorporated.

Use paper towels to pat dry the pork chops.

Spoon Dijon mustard over each pork chop, then rub each until well coated.

Sprinkle the spices over the pork chops, then rub each again until fully coated.

Sprinkle flour over the pork chops, then rub each until fully coated. Remove any excess by shaking it.

Place a 12-inch cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add the bacon, then cook for a few minutes until crispy. Store the bacon for other use. We just need the accumulated bacon grease for this recipe.

Add vegetable oil into the hot skillet, then allow it to become hot.

Coat the pork chops with flour again and shake off any excess. This makes them extra crispy!

Add the coated pork chops to the hot skillet, then cook each side for about 5 minutes or until they turn golden brown. (You can use an instant-read thermometer to check the pork chops. It should read 145 degrees F.)

Transfer the pork chops onto a clean serving plate. Let them sit for at least 3 minutes to incorporate all the flavors.

Serve and enjoy!

3/4 c breadcrumbs

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp onion powder

1 and 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 lb. ground beef

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1 large Egg

For the Easy Marinara Sauce:

1 (28 oz.) can of crushed tomatoes

1 tsp sugar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Extra Parmesan cheese, for serving

1/2 tsp salt

3 tbsp olive oil

1 and 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat it to 216 degrees C or 425 degrees F.

Line the inside of a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Add garlic powder, ground meat, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic, cheese, onion powder, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper into a large mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well incorporated.

Gradually add water, then use your clean hands to mix everything until well incorporated. Form small meatballs out of the mixture. Place them onto the lined baking sheet and arrange them in a single layer.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the meatballs for about 15 minutes or until done. Remove from the oven.

Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-low. Add oil and allow it to become hot.

Add the garlic into the pan, then sauté for about a minute or just until aromatic.

Add the tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt, sugar, and seasoning. Sauté for a few minutes. Simmer for 10 minutes while stirring.

Add the meatballs into the sauce, then toss until fully coated.

Serve and enjoy!
