These Butter Cookies changed the game! I love butter cookies, they are my most favourite cookies ever. In the past, I always bought plain butter cookies and never thought that dipping them in melted chocolate is gonna be wonderful! Not until I found this easy recipe. I have never indulged in store-bought butter cookies again even if sometimes I am tempted to because I am too lazy to whip up my own. But the moment I remember my first bite on these amazing Butter Cookies, I read the ingredients and make these delicious, buttery, and festive old-fashioned Butter Cookies!

Ingredients

1 c. butter softened

1/2 c. Sugar

2 large Egg Yolks

1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla

2 c. Flour

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 c. Chocolate Chips

1 teaspoon Vegetable Shortening Crisco

1 tablespoon Christmas coloured Nonpareils

How to make Butter Cookies

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Ready two cookie sheets. Grease and place in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3: In the meantime, cream the sugar and butter until fluffy. Add in the egg yolks and vanilla, beating until well combined. Now, slowly add in the flour along with the salt, beating continuously to incorporate.

Step 4: Into a pastry bag with a star tip, transfer the mixture. To the prepared sheet, pipe the batter, leaving at least an inch space between the cookies. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 11 to 13 minutes until the edges of the cookies turn barely brown.

Step 5: When done, remove the cookies from the oven and onto a wire rack to cool.

Step 6: Meanwhile, combine the Crisco and chocolate chips in a small bowl. Microwave for at least 30 seconds, stir until melted and smooth.

Step 7: In the chocolate, dip the cookie halfway, lay on the sheet, and sprinkle with nonpareils.
