Enjoy the bold flavours of this Bang Bang Chicken any time with this easy recipe. The chicken pieces are coated in buttermilk and panko breadcrumbs, seared to perfection, and tossed in a sweet chilli sauce. Everything about this bang bang chicken is nothing but pure goodness! The fantastic combination of juicy chicken with the crispiest, crunchy coating, and the simple yet impressive sauce is to die for! Whenever I make this, I make sure to double or triple it, especially if I am expecting a company because this runs out very fast!

Ingredients

1 large Egg

1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1” chunks

1/2 cup vegetable oil, or more, as needed

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup Panko

1/2 cup cornstarch

1 cup buttermilk

1 tablespoon hot sauce

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

SAUCE:

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 teaspoons Frank’s Hot Sauce

1 tablespoon honey

2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce

HOW TO MAKE BANG BANG CHICKEN

Step 1: Combine the chilli sauce, mayonnaise, honey, and Frank’s Hot Sauce in a mixing bowl until mixed.

Step 2: Heat a large skillet on the stove over medium heat. Drizzle the vegetable oil into the skillet.

Step 3: Place the flour in a mixing bowl along with the buttermilk, hot sauce, egg, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix well until blended.

Step 4: Into the buttermilk mixture, dredge the chicken one by one, then evenly coat with panko crumbs, shaking the excess off.

Step 5: Once the oil is hot, add the chicken to the skillet and sear for a couple of minutes until golden brown. Onto a clean plate lined with paper towels, transfer the chicken when done. Do the same with the remaining chicken.

Step 6: Over the fried chicken, drizzle the sweet chilli sauce. Serve the bang bang chicken immediately. Enjoy!
