These oven-baked Bacon Wrapped Smokies a.k.a Crack Weenies is a simple but completely addictive appetizer. Nothing could be easier and more fun than making these little bad boys. You can even ask the children to help if you want to. You can bond while prepping these tinies.

The kids are raving about these crack weenies. I made it a few days back when they came over and now they cannot get enough of these! A warning, these are so good, they’ll be gone in a blink! So make sure to make plenty, so everyone can have more than a taste.

If you want to make these ahead, you can! Simply wrap the bacon, sprinkle with the brown sugar, and store in the fridge until ready to serve. This sure will save you time to prep for your next gathering.

Ingredients

2 14-ounces packs Lit’l Smokies smoked sausage

2 packages bacon Suggest Hormel Black Label

1 cup light brown sugar

70 Toothpicks

How to make Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Step 1: Into thirds, cut the bacon.

Step 2: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees.

Step 3: In a piece of bacon, about 1/3 a slice, wrap each sausage. Secure with a toothpick.

Step 4: To a foil-lined jelly-roll pan, place the bacon-wrapped sausages, placing them close together.

Step 5: Over the sausages, sprinkle the brown sugar.

Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes until the bacon is done.

Step 7: You can either serve the wrapped smokies immediately or transfer them in a crockpot set on warm.

Note:

As an alternative, you can melt a stick of butter and mix it with brown sugar. Pour this over the sausages and bake as directed.
