A friend introduced me to Air Fryer. I was a bit hesitant at first but when I tried it once I became obsessed that I immediately bought one for myself. With an air fryer, everything is easy and quick.

Sausage is a great alternative to your usual protein and cooking them in an air fryer is not only the easiest but they are fantastic if you want something low carb, gluten-free, and keto-friendly.

Ingredients

1 pkg uncooked Italian sausage, mild, sweet, or hot

How to make Air Fryer Sausage (Italian, Links, Uncooked)

Take note that Italian sausages have higher fat content and already preseasoned so you are not required to do any prep work for this recipe. Just remove the sausage from the fridge 5 to 10 minutes before cooking.

Air Fryer Italian Sausage Temperature:

In a single layer, place the sausages on the air fryer basket, making sure to leave enough room on all sides.

No reheating required. After laying the sausages on the basket, set the air fryer at 360 degrees F.

Air Fry Sausage Cook Time:

In an air fryer oven, cook the Italian sausages for about 6 minutes. Flip the sausage and cook the other side for another 5 to 6 minutes until the internal temperature of the sausage reads 160 degrees F. Note that the cooking time varies depending on the air fryer models.

When done, take the Italian sausages from the air fryer and let them rest for at least 5 minutes so the juices redistribute evenly throughout the meat.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

This recipe works with either Italian sausages, brats, turkey sausage, even uncooked dinner sausage.

I suggest putting perforated parchment paper under the sausage for fewer grease drips while cooking. You can also add a tbsp of water to the bottom, or simply use an old piece of bread to haul the grease.

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the sausages. The ideal internal temperature when done of Sausage links, breakfast sausages, and other varieties is 160 degrees F.
