10-MINUTE GARLIC CHILI OIL NOODLES

by Rebecca September 28, 2021

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 5 mins | Total Time: 10 mins | Servings: 1 person

This is the easiest noodle recipe I’ve made in my entire existence! All you need are just a few simple ingredients, a bowl, and ten minutes to make this.

I cannot remember where I first saw this recipe. I think it was a few months ago when I was watching random Facebook videos. I was hooked pretty quickly, and the rest is history. The thick, spicy, and garlicky noodles tossed in a crazy flavorful sauce hit me big time!

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons vegetable oil or any neutral oil

4 ounces thick wheat noodles

3 cloves garlic minced

1 teaspoon chicken stock powder or salt to taste

1 tablespoon Sichuan chilli flakes or to taste

1/2 teaspoon Chinese black vinegar

2 teaspoons light soy sauce

1 teaspoon dark soy sauce

cilantro, green onion, and sesame seeds for garnish

1 tablespoon green onion chopped, more for garnish

HOW TO MAKE 10-MINUTE GARLIC CHILI OIL NOODLES

Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the noodles. When done, rinse under cold water for a couple of seconds, then drain and place in a small bowl.

Step 2: Meanwhile, heat oil in a small pot until smoking hot.

Step 3: Over the noodles, add the garlic, chilli flakes, green onion, chicken stock powder (or salt), light and dark soy sauce, and Chinese black vinegar. Now, pour the hot oil over the chilli flakes and garlic.

Step 4: Stir well until everything is combined, adding extra soy sauce if needed. Serve the noodles garnished with some cilantro, green onion, and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

NOTES:

For a vegan variety, just substitute the chicken stock powder with salt.

Depending on your preference, you can serve these noodles hot or cold. If serving cold noodles, rinse the noodles in cold water for a couple of seconds. Drain the excess water, then serve.

For a heartier meal, add some minced meat or blanched vegetables to these noodles.
