WORLD’S BEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Prep Time: 5 mins | Total Time: 2 hrs 55 mins | Servings: 10 cups

This is the best Spaghetti Sauce that goes so well with spaghetti or spaghetti squash. A homemade recipe that you can prep in just five minutes. Allow it to cook for a few hours for that out-of-this-world goodness!

Ingredients

1.5 pounds extra lean ground beef 2 pounds if not using hot Italian sausage

1 pound Hot Italian Sausage casings removed

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

1 large onion diced

1 green bell pepper diced

4 cloves garlic minced

1 c. white wine beef broth works too

1 28-ounces can crushed tomatoes

1/2 can tomato paste 4 ounces can

1 jar marinara sauce I like Safeway O Organics

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon thyme

2 bay leaves

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 – 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper start small and increase the heat by taste

2 tablespoons dried parsley

1/2 c. Parmesan cheese

HOW TO MAKE THE WORLD’S BEST SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Step 1: Cook the beef and hot Italian sausage in a large pot over medium heat/ Drain the excess grease when done and set aside.

Step 2: Heat the olive oil in the same pot, then add the onion and green pepper. Saute for approximately 4 to 5 minutes until the onion is soft. Add the garlic, stir, and cook for about a minute or two until aromatic.

Step 3: Pour in the wine (you can use Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, or Moscato). Cook for approximately 2 minutes until reduced.

Step 4: To the pot, add the crushed tomatoes, paste, jar of marinara, oregano, thyme, sugar, bay leaves, crushed pepper flakes, and salt. Stir and simmer for a couple of minutes. Then, add the meat, stir, and cover.

Step 5: Allow the mixture to simmer over low to medium-low heat for at least an hour or longer.

Step 6: Add the Parmesan cheese along with parsley after an hour. Stir and let it simmer for additional 30 minutes.

Step 7: When done, enjoy with your favourite pasta or spaghetti squash and top with extra Parmesan cheese.
