1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2-2 pounds lean ground beef
1 small head of cabbage, chopped
1 lg onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can tomato sauce, 8 oz (more if needed)
2 can diced tomatoes, 14.5 ounces each
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 cup water
How to make Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls
Step 1: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the ground beef and onion to the skillet and cook until the beef has browned and the onions have softened, stirring. Then, add the garlic and continue to cook for a minute more.
Step 2: To the skillet with the beef mixture, add the chopped cabbage along with tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, pepper, and salt. Bring everything to a boil, then put the lid on. Simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the cabbage is tender.
Step 3: Take off the heat when done and serve right away. Enjoy!
