1 egg, raw

1.5 c. / 0.5 pound Chicken, boneless, cut into 1” chunks

1 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder

1/4 c. Cornstarch

1 teaspoon Sesame Oil

1/3 c. All-Purpose Flour

1/4 c. Chilled Club Soda

Salt

Sesame Chicken Sauce:

1.5 teaspoon Cornstarch

4 tablespoons Soy Sauce

1.5 tablespoons White Vinegar

1/2 c. Brown Sugar

1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder

2 teaspoon Sweet Chili Sauce

1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Powder

1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes

1/3 c. Water

1 teaspoon Sesame Oil

Additional:

Sesame Seeds for garnish

Oil for frying

How to make Ultimate Easy Sesame Chicken

Step 1: Combine the sauce ingredients until well mixed.

Step 2: Add the egg and sesame oil to a bowl. Mix well until blended. Then, add the chicken along with the salt, black pepper powder, flour, cornstarch, and chilled soda. Toss to coat the pieces of chicken.

Step 3: In batches, cook the pieces of chicken in a pan with oil until crisp. Transfer the cooked chicken on tissue paper to drain.

Step 4: To a pan, add the sauce and allow it to boil for a couple of seconds. Add the pieces of chicken and toss to coat well.

Step 5: Before serving, garnish the chicken with sesame seeds. Enjoy over rice or noodles.

NOTES:

When frying the chicken, make sure to not overcrowd the pan.

Feel free to add sriracha or red pepper flakes if you want the sauce to be spicy.

You can use honey in place of sugar in the sauce.

The secret to crispy fried chicken is the cold soda.

To save time, you can whip the sauce up ahead and simply refrigerate.

Instead of frying, you can air fry the chicken in an air fryer.

Add a bit of soda to the batter if it turned out thick until you reached your desired consistency.
