Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 50 mins | Total Time: 55 mins | Servings: 8 pieces

This crispy oven-baked BBQ chicken is so easy and quick to make using just two ingredients – chicken thighs, and/or drumsticks bone-in, skin-on, and your favourite BBQ sauce with, of course, a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper for seasoning. This simple recipe guarantees the best, crispiest, absolutely glazed, sweet, sticky, and tender barbecue baked chicken!

If you have a kid that always wants chicken, you have to have a bunch of recipe options and this crispy oven-baked BBQ chicken is a must! There is no marinating required, but still, the flavour sinks to the chicken! Yum!

Ingredients

2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil or canola oil

8-10 chicken thighs and/or drumsticks bone-in, skin on

2 c. of your favourite BBQ sauce

How to make Two Ingredient Crispy Oven Baked BBQ Chicken

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.

Step 2: With olive oil, coat all sides of the chicken and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Step 3: On a rimmed baking sheet, place the chicken, skin-side down. Put in the preheated oven and bake the chicken for about 25 minutes. When done, take the chicken out of the oven and adjust the oven temperature to 425 degrees.

Step 4: Using a basting brush, coat the top of the chicken with the barbecue sauce. Flip the chicken over with a spatula. Make sure not to tear the chicken skin, then baste the other side with the barbecue sauce. Return to the oven and bake for additional 7 minutes.

Step 5: Bate the top of the chicken again with barbecue sauce and continue to bake for another 7 minutes.

Step 6: Baste the chicken for the last time and bake for 7 minutes more.

Step 7: If you want a more crisped and browned chicken, position the oven rack up and broil the chicken for about 3 to 5 minutes.
