To make this outstanding casserole, all you need are just basic pantry ingredients. The red pepper flakes are optional, but I love them for that right amount of kick. if you have any leftovers, you can keep them in an air-tight container and store them in the fridge for a few days. Serve this Philly Cheese Steak Casserole by itself or with your favorite veggies on the side for a delicious weeknight meal excellent for everyone!
INGREDIENTS
2 green peppers, chopped
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
12 oz. Velveeta
2 onions, chopped
1 lb of macaroni
Salt & pepper to taste
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
How to make Philly Cheesesteak Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Ready a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Grease and set aside.
Step 2: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, and chili powder. When done, drain the excess grease. Set aside.
Step 3: Place the peppers and onions in another larger skillet. Saute on medium-high heat until tender and translucent.
Step 4: In the meantime, cook 1 lb of macaroni noodles following the package instruction.
Step 5: To the onions and peppers, stir in the ground beef mixture. Add the sliced Velveeta, stirring until completely melted and smooth.
Step 6: Into a large baking dish, place the cooked macaroni and the pepper/beef mixture. Stir well, then place in the preheated and bake the casserole for about 15 to 20 minutes.
