THIS IS A KEEPER. Everyone LOVES Caramel Cake for the holidays!

by Rebecca June 15, 2020

Caramel cake is a staple on Holidays. They work as great as the good-old chocolate cake we’ve been making and serving since. The 3 layers of cake that have been put together and frost is pretty to look at. You might even think that it’s difficult to make but I assure you this is one of the easiest cake I have ever made in my life! And it tastes amazing! The cake is moist, and the creamy caramel frosting is labored with love. This is almost like a store-bought cake but way better. Baking this is so much fun, I feel like a pro pastry chef. LOL. This light, fluffy classic caramel cake is heaven! Feel free to design the cake with whatever, maybe some edible flowers, or pour some melted caramel over and top with crushed caramels. A pretty and delicious cake to serve for holidays or any occasion.

INGREDIENTS

3 sticks butter

3 cups of sugar

5 eggs

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 1/4 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

How to make Caramel Cake

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Cream the butter, sugar, and eggs. Beat well until incorporated.

Step 3: Combine the flour, salt, and baking powder in another bowl.

Step 4: In a separate bowl, gradually add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.

Step 5: Then, add in the vanilla.

Step 6: Beat with a mixer or hand mixer until the batter stiffens.

Step 7: Pour everything into three greased and floured 9-inch baking pans.

Step 8: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the middle, once it comes out clean the cake is ready.

Step 9: If you are using a 9 x 13-inch pan, the baking time should be 45 minutes.

Step 10: Once done remove the cakes from the oven and cool on a cake rack before frosting.
