This Italian sausage sandwich hits all the right spots! It is made with just four ingredients and ready in under an hour. This is named “The Bomb” for great reasons! This sandwich is spicy, cheesy, saucy, and darn delicious, you will not mind getting your hands dirty. My kids call this a messy sandwich. They always have fun eating this all the time! If you have not tried this yet, you should very soon. I am pretty sure your entire family will love this delicious sandwich with over-the-top filling in Italian crusty bread!

Ingredients

10 sausage links

2 large loaves of Italian bread sliced lengthwise

1 lb pepper jack cheese sliced

Homemade Red Sauce

How to make The Bomb Italian Sausage Sandwich

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: On a cookie sheet, place 10 Italian sausage links. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, turning once until all sides are cooked through and brown.

Step 3: In the meantime, slice the sausages lengthwise, then across for 4 pieces per link. Into thick, pieces, slice the pepper jack. Then, cut the Italian bread loaves lengthwise.

Step 4: Spread the sauce into the insides of both halves of the bread. On a large cookie sheet, lay the bread side by side. On the sauce on the bread half that is going to be the sandwich top, lay the slices of cheese. On the other half of the bread that will be the bottom of the sandwich, place the pieces of the sausage link. On top of the bottom, very carefully place the top of the sandwich. Using foil, tightly tent the sandwiches.

Step 5: Place in the oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Remove from the oven when done and remove the foil. Slice the sandwich using a bread knife and serve. Enjoy!
