PREP TIME: 15 MINS | COOK TIME: 8 HRS | TOTAL TIME: 8 HRS 15 MINS | SERVINGS: 12

You can easily make this mouthwatering pulled pork in your slow cooker. It’s pretty simple, yet delivers so much flavor. This delicious shredded meat is perfect for tacos, sandwiches, and more.

I love this slow cooker pulled pork. This does not take too much effort to make, big thanks to my trusty slow cooker. Excellent for busy days, and perfect for a quick weeknight meal or entertaining. This slow-cooker version of our favorite pulled pork is a must and for keeps! This recipe is also very versatile because you can either follow this list of spices below or use your favorite spices to suit your taste.

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp brown sugar

4 lb pork shoulder

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp onion powder

¼ c. apple cider vinegar

2 tbsp paprika (try smoked paprika for more of that smoked flavor)

¾ c. water

1 tsp kosher salt

How to make The Best Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Step 1: Combine the dried spices and rub them on the pork, coating all sides.

Step 2: In the bottom of a slow cooker, pour in the vinegar and water. Add the pork, making sure the spices are not washed off. Put the lid on and seal. Set to cook for 8 hours on low.

Step 3: Then, take the pork out and shred, removing the large pieces of fat. Discard the large fatty pieces.

Step 4: Serve with the juices from the slow cooker if desired.

NOTES:

Keep a little of the seasoning and toss it with the cooked pulled pork for an extra kick.

If you want brown and crispy ends, simply place the shredded meat on a foil-lined baking sheet and broil for a few minutes.

You can shred the meat using 2 forks, a potato masher, shredding claws, or an electric mixer.

The meat is not yet done if it is difficult to shred. Return it to the slow cooker and cook further.
