Perfectly baked in the oven, these fried chicken pieces are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This for me is the best oven-fried chicken! Healthier than fried with the same goodness.
Ingredients
3 chicken breasts, trimmed and cut into 3 strips each
1⁄4 c. butter
1 c. flour
½ c. Panko breadcrumbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp pepper
2 tsp paprika
chopped parsley for garnish
Marinara Sauce, for dipping
How to make The Best Oven Fried Chicken
Step 1: In a bowl of milk, add the chicken breast strips. Allow it to soak for at least 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 2: Meanwhile, prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees.
Step 3: Into a few pieces, cut the butter, then place in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Put in the preheated oven to melt.
Step 4: Around the bottom of the pan, spread the melted butter, making sure that no dry spots remain.
Step 5: In a large Ziploc bag, add the flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Step 6: Into the Ziploc, add half of the chicken strips, shaking the excess milk off, then shake to coat.
Step 7: On the baking sheet, arrange the coated chicken strips. Between each strip, leave a space.
Step 8: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 10 to 12 minutes. Using a pair of tongs, flip the chicken and continue to bake for 10 to 12 minutes more.
Step 9: If needed, bake the chicken for 5 to 10 minutes more if you prefer them cooked through but not overdone or dry.
Step 10: Transfer the chicken to paper towels to drain and enjoy immediately.
