This bread pudding recipe is one of the easiest you can make today. Made with simple ingredients, you can easily throw this together in a snap! This bread pudding is filled with cinnamon and nutmeg, making this my most favourite breakfast or dessert.

My mom shared this simple recipe with me when I was still in college. She knew how much I love this bread pudding. No fancy or hard-to-find ingredients are required. What you need is mostly sitting in your pantry. So you’ll find no reason not to make this delicious bread pudding.

Ingredients

1 16-ounces loaf French bread

5 Eggs

1 c. sugar

1 1/2 c. milk

1 1/2 c. heavy cream

2 teaspoons vanilla

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Sauce:

1 c. heavy cream

1 tablespoon flour

1/2 c. sugar

4 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

How to make The Best Bread Pudding

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Using nonstick cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

Step 3: Into 1 to 2-inches squares, cut the bread and add them into a large bowl.

Step 4: Place the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a different bowl. Whisk well until combined, then pour this over the bread. Gently stir to coat the pieces of bread and allow them to soak for approximately 20 minutes.

Step 5: Into the prepared baking dish, spread the pieces of bread. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until the middle is set.

Step 6: Whisk the sugar, flour, and heavy cream in a saucepan until well mixed.

Step 7: Add the butter to the pan and heat over medium heat until melted and the liquid begins to boil, whisking until the mixture has slightly thickened.

Step 8: Take the pan away from the heat, then stir in the vanilla.
