If you are me who had her fair share of fails when making biscuits, you might think that this no-fail Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits will only add to your frustrations. Believe me when I say that this recipe will change everything! Tender bites, perfect flavour and texture, these babies are the real deal!

Ingredients

2 cups flour

1 tablespoon + 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 cups sour cream (I would not suggest subbing light)

1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

4 tablespoons soft butter

How to Make Tender Homemade Sour Cream Biscuits

Step 1: Place the first 4 ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda) in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk well until mixed.

Step 2: On top, add spoonfuls of sour cream followed by oil. Mix well using a spoon until moistened.

Step 3: Using your hands, turn the dough to get the dry stuff on the bottom of the bowl. Then, knead the dough on a floured surface about 8 times.

Step 4: Roll the dough to around an 8-inch circle and just a few passes using a floured rolling pin. Using a biscuit cutter or a floured glass, cut out 6 biscuits from the dough. And another 2 from the last of the dough.

Step 5: Transfer the biscuits to a cookie sheet sprayed with butter-flavoured pam.

Step 6: On top, add tiny pats of butter. Carefully spread the butter (if soft) to not deflate the biscuits.

Step 7: Place in a 425 degrees preheated oven. Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes until the tops are golden brown. The cooking time may vary depending on the oven.

Step 8: When done, remove the biscuits from the oven and add butter on top of the biscuits. Enjoy warm with extra butter or homemade jam or honey.
