Turn your canned biscuits into delicious doughnuts! This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a kid. I loved eating this as a snack pretty much all the time! Now, that I am an adult, I still enjoy eating it with my favourite cup of coffee. Give this recipe a try and you are so in for a treat! Feel free to add more ingredients if you want. 8 ounces can buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups cooking oil
Directions:
Step 1: Place a small skillet on the stove and turn the heat to low.
Step 2: Add the cooking oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 3: Meanwhile, in a shallow dish, add the cinnamon and sugar. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 4: Make a 1-inch hole in the middle of each biscuit. I use a cooking cutter for this step.
Step 5: Add 4 biscuits at a time into the hot oil and cook until they turn golden brown.
Step 6: Turn the biscuits and cook the other side until golden brown as well.
Step 7: Repeat steps 5 and 6 to the rest of the biscuits.
Step 8: Remove the biscuits from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Step 9: Allow the biscuits to cool at room temperature.
Step 10: (This is optional.) Coat each with powdered sugar.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
