SPICY SMOKED SAUSAGE ALFREDO BAKE

A certified crowd-pleasure, this Spicy Smoked sausage Alfredo bake is the perfect easy and quick weeknight dinner. Devour this delicious dish any time and receive compliments over and over again. With mouths full, my kids can’t help to appreciate this simple dish.

INGREDIENTS

16 oz dry pasta

3 tbsp butter

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

3 tbsp flour

1 c chicken broth

2 c half and half

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese

2 c grated mozzarella cheese, divided

1-2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1 (12 ounces) fully cooked smoked sausage, any variety

How to make SPICY SMOKED SAUSAGE ALFREDO BAKE

Step 1: Ready the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain when done.

Step 2: Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add in the garlic. Cook for about a minute or two or until aromatic. Stir in the flour.

Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth and whisk until smooth. Add in the half-and-half and stir.

Step 4: Season with salt, pepper, and add in the cayenne and red pepper flakes. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.

Step 5: Add parmesan cheese and a cup of mozzarella to the mixture. Stir until the cheeses have melted and become smooth.

Step 6: Into 1/4 inch pieces, slice the sausage. Add the slices to the sauce with chopped parsley and cooked pasta. Season according to taste.

Step 7: Ready the broiler.

Step 8: Into a lightly greased 9 c 13-inch baking dish, transfer the pasta mixture and top with the rest of the mozzarella cheese.

Step 9: Place in the broiler and broil for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
