HOW TO MAKE SMOTHERED PORK CHOPS WITH ONIONS AND MUSHROOMS
Step 1: Whisk the seasoning mix in a small bowl. On each pork chop, rub some of the seasoning mixes, saving the leftover for the onion gravy.
Step 2: Dredge each pork chop in flour, making sure to coat every nook and cranny. Set aside.
Step 3: In a skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops to the skillet once the oil is hot enough and cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side until brown. Remove the pork chops when done and set aside for now.
Step 4: Add the sliced onions to the now-empty skillet and cook in the drippings for a couple of minutes. Add the mushrooms and continue to cook further.
Step 5: Stir in the rest of the flour, making sure it’s Incorporated into the onions and mushrooms. Then, gradually add in 2 cups of water and stir. At this point, add the extra seasoning, if using.
Step 6: Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then add the pork chops back to the skillet. Decrease the heat to low/simmer, put the lid on, and cook the pork chops with onions and mushrooms for about an hour.
