1 small onion
2 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
10.5 ounces can cream of chicken or mushroom soup

How to make Slow Cooker Sausage and Potato Casserole
Step 1: In a greased slow cooker, mix the hash browns, kielbasa, onion, and 2 cups of the cheese. Or you can saute the sausage and onions first before adding them into the slow cooker. And if using frozen potatoes, adjust the cooking time.
Step 2: Combine the cream of chicken, milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
Step 3: Add the hash brown mix into the pot and stir well to incorporate.
Step 4: Sprinkle the rest of the cheese over.
Step 5: Cook for 6 hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.
Step 6: You know it’s done when the potatoes and onions are cooked through. Note: Make sure to not overcook the potatoes.
Notes:
If you prefer, you can saute the onion and sausage first before putting them into the slow cooker.
Add to the cooking time when using frozen potatoes.
