This dish would be the best Pot Roast you will ever make! Easy to make with just a few simple ingredients, this slow cooker pot roast is not short in amazing flavour! This pot roast is one of my favourite slow cooker recipes. Just seven ingredients, a few steps, and you got yourself the best-tasting pot roast! For a complete meal, serve this delicious pot roast with rice or mashed potatoes. Delicious!
Ingredients
3 pounds chuck roast
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
1 packet ranch dressing mix
1 packet Au Jus mix
½ c (1 stick) salted butter
8 Pepperoncini peppers
How to make Slow Cooker Mississippi Pot Roast
Step 1: Add oil to a heated large non-stick pan. Heat over high heat.
Step 2: Pat dry both sides of the pot roast with a paper towel and season with a little salt and pepper.
Step 3: Once the skillet is very hot, add and sear the roast for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown.
Step 4: Flip the meat using tongs and continue to sear the other side for 2 to 3 minutes more.
Step 5: When done, transfer the roast into a slow cooker.
Step 6: Over the pot roast, sprinkle packets of dry ranch dressing and Au Jus.
Step 7: Place a stick of butter on top and sprinkle the peppers around.
Step 8: Cover the slow cooker and cook for 8 hours on low.
Step 9: Once done, shred the meat using two forks. Discarding the big fat pieces.
Step 10: Serve this with mashed potatoes or rice. Enjoy!
Note:
This pot roast makes its gravy, so don’t worry about adding a stick of butter over it.
