by Rebecca March 10, 2021

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 8 hrs | Total Time: 8 hrs 20 mins | Servings: 4

This is my very first slow cooker recipe – Louisiana Ribs, Cajun Style. Spicy, sweet, and just melt in your mouth!

Ingredients

1 rack pork baby back ribs

1/2 c. water

Dry rub:

1 tablespoon paprika

2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon pepper

3/4 teaspoon onion powder

3/4 teaspoon dried leaf oregano

3/4 teaspoon dried leaf thyme

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/2 teaspoon creole seasoning

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1/4 c. packed brown sugar

Barbecue sauce:

1 c. barbecue sauce use your favourite!

1/2 teaspoon molasses

1/2 teaspoon creole seasoning

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon onion powder

How to make Slow Cooker Louisiana Ribs (Cajun Style)

Step 1: In a small bowl, mix the dry rub ingredients.

Step 2: In another small bowl, add the barbecue sauce ingredients.

Step 3: On a large cutting board, place the ribs, then flip them over to have the curved side up. Remove the silver skin and discard and slice the ribs into four even parts.

Step 4: Rub the dry rub on both sides of the ribs with your hands. Into a greased (sprayed with non-stick cooking spray) slow cooker, place the pieces of ribs. Spread half of the barbecue sauce over the ribs, then add about half a cup of water around the ribs.

Step 5: Cover the slow cooker and set it on low. Cook for 8 hours undisturbed.

Step 6: On the ribs, brush the rest of the barbecue sauce.

Step 7: Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

For this recipe, you can use pulled pork seasoning packet instead of making a homemade rub.
