Ingredients
14 ounces can diced tomatoes with Italian herbs
3/4 c. tomato pasta sauce
3/4 c. evaporated milk or heavy cream
2 tbsp corn starch
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
How to make Slow Cooker Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken
Step 1: To a 3-6-quart slow cooker, add the tomatoes and pasta sauce.
Step 2: Mix well the cream and cornstarch, then add to the slow cooker. Whisk in the garlic, salt, basil, and pepper.
Step 3: Add and press down the chicken breasts into the sauce.
Step 4: Set the slow cooker on low and cook the chicken breasts for 3 to 4 hours until the meat thermometer reached 165 degrees F. The exact cooking time depends on your slow cooker.
Step 5: Before serving, stir in the fresh basil, then serve the Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken over pasta, rice, or with a salad and veggies. Enjoy!
