14 ounces can diced tomatoes with Italian herbs
3/4 c tomato pasta sauce
3/4 c evaporated milk or heavy cream
2 tbsp corn starch
2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
How to make Slow Cooker Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken
Step 1: Into a 3 to 6-quart slow cooker, add the tomatoes and pasta sauce.
Step 2: Mix the cream and corn starch and add this into the slow cooker.
Step 3: Season with garlic, salt, basil, and pepper.
Step 4: Place the chicken breasts into the slow cooker, pressing them down into the sauce.
Step 5: Cook the chicken for about 3 to 5 hours on low or until a meat thermometer inserted to the thickest part of the chicken registered 165 degrees F. The cooking time varies depending on the slow cooker used.
Step 6: Add the fresh basil into the pot and stir.
Step 7: This is best served over rice, pasta, or alongside salad and veggies. Enjoy!
