This is another skillet meal that never fails to impress everyone! A delicious red sauce, macaroni and cheese with sausage and bell peppers. The perfect weeknight dinner for busy and lazy days. Easily throw this together using ingredients you can find in your pantry at any time. And in under forty-five minutes, you have a flavorful meal that your family will approve of!

Simple meals are not hard to find. Everyone has their go-to and favorite recipes. Mine is this skillet Mac and cheese with sausage and bell peppers. Cleaning up is easy as this is done in a single skillet. This is even excellent for packing lunches.

For this recipe, I have tried swapping marinara with red tomato spaghetti sauce, and it turned out amazing! Serve this on its own or with chicken, pork, and a simple side salad. This recipe is no doubt a five-star! Always a huge hit and a keeper! Make sure to give this a go very soon!

Ingredients

2 bell peppers, diced

1 pound pork sausage

8 ounces elbow macaroni, dry

18 ounces water

18 ounces of marinara sauce

⅓ c. mozzarella cheese

⅓ c. half and half

How to make Skillet Mac and Cheese with Sausage and Bell Peppers

Step 1: Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the excess grease when done.

Step 2: Into the skillet, add the diced bell peppers along with the dried elbow macaroni, marinara sauce, and water. Bring everything to a boil, then decrease the heat to a simmer. Put the lid on and simmer for about 20 minutes or until the macaroni is tender, stirring often.

Step 3: Then, add the half-and-half and cheese. Stir well until blended.

Step 4: Take the skillet off the heat when done and let it sit for about 2 minutes, covered, or until the cheese has melted.
