This Skillet Mac and Cheese is one of my top favourite one-pan meals made with only a few simple ingredients. The sausage, bell peppers, and pasta are all cooked in a single skillet and guarantee the best mac and cheese you’ll ever make! Enjoy this scrumptious red sauce macaroni and cheese with sausage and bell peppers at home and any time with this super easy and quick recipe.
I always bring food to the office. I don’t like takeout as much as I did when I was younger. I want to cook my food and share them with friends and colleagues. My friends at work particularly love my mac and cheese. I have a few versions, but I enjoy this one very much. It is not only easy to throw together but super good, too!

Ingredients
2 bell peppers, diced
1 pound pork sausage
8 ounces elbow macaroni, dry
18 ounces water
18 ounces marinara sauce
⅓ c. mozzarella cheese
⅓ c. half and half
How to make Skillet Mac and Cheese with Sausage and Bell Peppers
Step 1: Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the grease when done.
Step 2: To the skillet with the sausage, add the diced bell peppers along with the dried elbow macaroni, marinara sauce, and water. Bring everything to a boil, then decrease the heat. Put the lid on and simmer for approximately 20 minutes until the macaroni is tender, stirring often.
Step 3: Pour in the half-and-half, then sprinkle with cheese. Stir until blended.
Step 4: Take the skillet off the heat, cover it again, and leave it for about 2 minutes to melt the cheese.
Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Whisk a half cup of milk with a half cup of heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream) to make 1 cup of half-and-half.
