Southern Chocolate Cobbler

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 40 mins | Total Time: 45 mins | Yield: 6 Servings

You only need 10 easy steps and 8 simple ingredients for this Southern Chocolate Cobbler! You will surely love the moist texture of this cobbler! Ready in less than an hour, you will be so glad that you tried this recipe! Dessert is going to be awesome; I promise!

Ingredients:

FOR THE BATTER:

2 c all-purpose flour

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 c unsalted butter

1 c milk

1/4 tsp salt

1 1/2 c granulated sugar

4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

FOR THE TOPPING:

1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder

2 c granulated sugar

Vanilla ice cream, for serving

3 c boiling water

Directions:

Prepare the oven and preheat it to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Add butter to a 9×13-inch baking dish, then place it in the preheated oven. Allow the butter to melt completely.

Remove the baking dish from the oven.

In a mixing bowl, add vanilla extract, salt, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, salt, 4 tbsp of cocoa powder, baking powder, milk, and flour.

Whisk everything until well incorporated.

Transfer the flour mixture to the baking dish with the melted butter. Make sure not to stir.

Add 1/2 cup cocoa powder and 2 cups of sugar into another mixing bowl. Stir until well combined. Scatter the mixture on top of the batter.

Add boiling water and make sure not to stir.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the Southern Chocolate Cobbler for about 35 to 40 minutes or until done.

Remove the cobbler from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes at room temperature before serving.

Serve and enjoy!

Notes:

Place any leftovers in an airtight container.

I highly recommend serving this with a scoop of ice cream on top. Do it and thank me later!
