Nothing beats a simple pasta dinner with your family. We love pasta at home, and I make pasta at least thrice a week. We have our favourite pasta rotation, and we are enjoying the newest addition to our list – this simple sausage and Parmesan pasta skillet. It is very simple, yet so good you’ll never get tired of eating this!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 pound ground Italian sausage

1 pound pasta, radiatore, farfalle, pipette all work well

1/2 c. dry white wine

2 teaspoons minced garlic

pinch crushed red pepper flakes

1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced

1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese

1 1/2 c. shredded or shaved Parmesan cheese

salt & pepper, to taste

How to make Simple Sausage & Parmesan Pasta Skillet

Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the pasta in a large pot with boiling salted water until al dente. When done, drain the pasta and toss with olive oil. Add the pasta back to the pot and set aside.

Step 2: In the meantime, cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking the meat apart as it cooks until done. Drain the excess grease and add the cooked sausage back to the skillet.

Step 3: Into the meat, add the garlic. Stir and cook for about a minute until just aromatic. Then, pour in the wine. Stir and simmer until most of the liquid has cooked off.

Step 4: Add the onions to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir and continue to cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until just wilted.

Step 5: To the pot with the pasta, pour the sausage mixture. Toss until the pasta is evenly coated. Now, add the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese and stir until completely melted and well combined.

Step 6: Adjust the salt and pepper according to taste. Serve the sausage and Parmesan pasta skillet right away. Enjoy!
