1 pound skirt steak, thinly sliced into 1/4-inch strips
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon plus 1 tbsp. canola oil, divided
1 pound green beans, trimmed
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 inches piece of ginger, peeled and grated
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
How to make Sesame-Ginger Beef
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add in the beef and use paper towels to pat them dry.
Step 2: Sprinkle cornstarch, salt, and pepper over the beef and toss until everything is well coated.
Step 3: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 4: Add in 1 tablespoon of oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 5: Add in the green beans and cook for a minute.
Step 6: Add in 2 tablespoons of water and cover the skillet to steam for another 1 minute.
Step 7: Remove the beans from the skillet and place them on a clean plate. Make sure to discard any excess water.
Step 8: In the same skillet, add in the rest of the oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 9: Add in the beef and fry for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 10: Add in the ginger, garlic, vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer for 1 minute before mixing it.
Step 11: Stir until well combined, then put the green beans back to the skillet as well as the sesame seeds and green onions.
Step 12: Remove from the heat.
Step 13: Serve hot and enjoy!
