2 cloves garlic finely minced

1 – 1 1/2 tbsp chilli sauce (sambal oelek)
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 c. cold water
2 tbsp sesame seeds
4 green onions trimmed and sliced in 1” pieces
HOW TO MAKE SESAME CHICKEN
Step 1: Place the pieces of chicken and 1/4 cup cornstarch in a large Ziploc bag. Shake to coat.
Step 2: Heat 2 tbsp canola oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken to the pan in batches and fry until both sides are brown. When done, transfer to a plate.
Step 3: Add a tbsp canola oil in a small saucepan and heat. Once hot, add the garlic to the pan and cook until aromatic. Add in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, and chilli sauce. Whisk 2 tbsp cornstarch with water until no lumps remain, then stir this into the sauce in the pan and continue to cook until slightly thickened.
Step 4: Wipe clean the pan where you fried the chicken. Adjust the heat to medium-high. To the pan, add the sesame seeds and toast for about 3 to 5 minutes until a bit browned while frequently stirring. To a bowl, transfer the toasted sesame seeds. Add the chicken back to the skillet, then stir in the sauce, and sprinkle with scallions and the toasted sesame seeds.
Step 5: Enjoy the sesame chicken over rice or Chinese noodles.
