Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Earthquake Cake

Reese’s are the best! I love them as a child until now. And this amazing cake justifies how tasty and versatile they are! Filled with creamy peanut butter and Reese’s peanut butter cups, these heavenly cake is one heck of a steal! Calling this an earthquake cake is such an understatement. Sure this happy cake will knock you off your feet!

Ingredients

1 Box Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix (oil, eggs, water)

8 ounces softened cream cheese

1/2 c softened butter

1/2 Creamy peanut butter

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 c powdered sugar

1/2 c chocolate chips

1 c miniature Reese’s peanut butter cups (unwrapped and cut in halves)

How to make Reese’s Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Earthquake Cake

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Using nonstick cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.

Step 3: Combine the chocolate fudge cake ingredients in a large bowl

Step 4: Into the prepared baking dish, pour the fudge cake batter, then set aside.

Step 5: Mix the cream cheese, butter, peanut butter, and vanilla in another bowl until well combined.

Step 6: Add in the sugar a cup at a time until you have added the 4 cups, mixing every after each addition.

Step 7: In spoonfuls, add the peanut butter mixture to the chocolate cake mix, slightly spreading around.

Step 8: On top of the peanut butter mixture, sprinkle Reese’s peanut butter cup halves and chocolate chips.

Step 9: Place inside the preheated oven. Bake the cake for about 45 to 50 minutes. In the 45 minutes mark, check the centre of the cake. Insert a toothpick in the middle, and when it comes out clean, the cake is perfect!

Step 10: When done, take the cake out of the oven and serve warm. Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
