Ingredients
Crust:
1 (15.25 oz) box red velvet cake mix
1/2 c. unsalted butter 1 stick, melted
1 Egg
Filling:
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
2 Eggs
1/2 c. unsalted butter 1 stick, melted
4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
How to make Red Velvet Gooey Butter Cake
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F.
Step 2: With nonstick cooking spray, lightly grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
Step 3: To make the crust, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl. And into the bottom of the prepared pan, evenly press the crust mixture.
Step 4: Place the cream cheese in a different large bowl. Beat with a mixer until smooth.
Step 5: Add the eggs to the cream cheese and mix well.
Step 6: Stir in the butter until incorporated.
Step 7: Slowly mix in the powdered sugar until combined.
Step 8: Add in the vanilla and mix well.
Step 9: Over the crust, pour the filling mixture.
Step 10: Place inside the preheated oven. Bake the cake for about 40 to 50 minutes, or until the edges are just firm and the middle is still jiggly.
Step 11: Remove from the oven and cool.
Step 12: Slice into squares and serve. Enjoy!
