Simplicity at its finest. This quiche is a very simple dish that you can whip up easily. It’s packed with onions and sausage and topped with homemade sausage gravy. A very comforting quiche with sausage gravy that is perfect for everyone!

Ingredients

24 ounces ground breakfast sausage (or use broken up raw breakfast sausage patties)

2 tablespoons canola oil

1 Vidalia onion, finely diced

Sausage Quiche:

6 eggs

1 pie crust dough (or use a deep dish frozen pie shell)

1/2 c. sour cream

fresh cracked black pepper

salt

2/3 of the cooked sausage and onion mixture

1/2 c. heavy whipping cream

Sausage gravy:

2 c. whole milk

fresh cracked black pepper

remaining 1/3 of the cooked sausage and onion mixture

salt

1/4 c. all-purpose flour

How to make Quiche with Sausage Gravy

Step 1: Heat the oil in a cooking pan over medium heat. Then, add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Next, add the sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. When done, take the pan off the heat.

Quiche:

Step 2: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 3: Gently fit the pie crust in a greased deep-dish pie pan.

Step 4: Beat the eggs with sour cream, heavy whipping cream, salt, and pepper until smooth. Then, whisk in 2/3 of the cooked sausage mixture. Pour this over the pie pan, evenly spreading the mixture.

Step 5: Transfer the pie pan to a baking sheet and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 40 to 45 minutes.

Sausage gravy:

Step 6: On medium heat, heat the rest of the sausage and sprinkle with flour. Mix well until the sausage is completely coated in flour.

Step 7: Gradually pour in the milk while constantly and slowly stirring until thickened. Then, remove it from the heat.

Step 8: To serve, top each slice of quiche with some gravy. Enjoy!
