Pork Schnitzel Recipe

by Rebecca September 30, 2021

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 25 mins | Servings: 4

Today is a good day. I’ve got my new oven, and I’m so happy! My old one decided to give up on me after years of service. Anyway, my new oven aside, I have this new recipe I want to share. A pretty easy and quick Pork Schnitzel recipe. Whenever I want to indulge myself, this is one of the five dishes I whip up. Breaded Pork Schnitzel pan-fried to perfection until golden and crispy.

Ingredients

1-2 c. of neutral-flavoured oil such as canola or vegetable

4 Boneless pork chops pounded thin about a ¼” thick

2 eggs, beaten

1 c. of flour

1 tsp of smoked paprika

1 c. of bread crumbs

¼ c. of milk

1½ tsp of salt

½ tsp of ground black pepper

¼ tsp of ground nutmeg optional

Garnishes:

Lemon wedged

Coarse salt

Flat Leaf parsley minced

How to make Pork Schnitzel

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 200 degrees F. Fry the pork chops in batches if doing 4 pieces. After frying the first 2 chops, place them on a baking sheet and into the oven to keep them warm while frying the remaining 2.

Step 2: Ready 3 large bowls. Add the flour, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to the first bowl and mix well. Add two beaten eggs and the milk to the second bowl. And the breadcrumbs in the third bowl. Dredge each pork chop in the flour mixture, then coat in the egg mixture and lastly in the bread crumbs. Set aside.

Step 3: In a large walled pan, add enough neutral-flavoured oil to have about 1/8 inch layer in the bottom of the pan. Heat the oil over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes until shimmering. In batches, add the pork schnitzels to the pan and fry them for approximately 3 minutes per side.

Step 4: When done, transfer the pork schnitzels on a platter and season with salt and pepper. Serve them with some minced parsley, and a lemon wedge on the side. Enjoy!
