Sliders:
12 ounces Hawaiian buns
3/4 pound beef, sliced thinly
1/2 red pepper, thin strips
1/2 green pepper, thin strips
1/2 onion, sliced
4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
8 slices provolone cheese
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
¾ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
¾ teaspoon ground paprika
¾ teaspoon garlic powder
Butter spread:
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
How to make Philly Cheese Steak Sliders
Step 1: To make the seasoning, mix the salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic in a small bowl.
Step 2: Into thin strips, slice the beef, mushrooms, onion, and peppers.
Step 3: Heat a tsp oil with a tbsp butter in a skillet. Add the beef once hot and saute until almost completely cooked. With half of the prepared seasoning, season the beef. Remove from the skillet, then cover to keep the beef warm.
Step 4: To the now-empty skillet, add the rest of the 1 tsp oil and 1 tbsp butter. Once the oil is hot and the butter has melted, add the peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Cook until the veggies are tender over medium heat. Return the steak to the skillet, season with the rest of the seasoning, and toss.
Step 5: In half, cut the rolls and remove the tops. To a casserole dish, add the bottom of the buns, removing the tops. On the bottom of the buns, spread the mayo. Add the cooked beef, then veggies, and evenly spread. Top with cheese before closing the buns.
Step 6: Mix well the melted butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. On top of the rolls, generously brush the butter spread. Using foil, tent the dish and place in a 375 degrees F preheated oven. Bake for about 15 minutes. Uncover and resume baking for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese has completely melted.
Step 7: Remove from the oven and slice the sliders before serving. Enjoy!
