4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 tbsp olive oil
Rub:
4 tsp paprika
4 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
How to make Perfect Baked Chicken Breast
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees F.
Step 2: Toss the chicken in olive oil or brush.
Step 3: Mix the rub ingredients (paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt). Over the chicken breasts, sprinkle the rub. Flip and sprinkle the other side, too, until thoroughly coated.
Step 4: On a sturdy baking sheet, place the chicken breasts. Make sure to keep at least an inch or two of space between the chicken breasts. Place inside the preheated oven and bake the chicken for about 10 minutes. Flip the chicken and continue to bake the other side until the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165 degrees F. Note the baking time depends on the size of the chicken breasts:
5 ounces – bake for 12-15 minutes
7 ounces – bake for 15-20 minutes
10 ounces – bake for 20-25 minutes
Step 5: Take the chicken out of the oven when done and tent with a baking dish for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Uncover and place the chicken breasts on a cutting board, then cut against the grain.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
For the exact cooking time, I suggest weighing the chicken breasts first.
For the rub, you can omit the sugar.
To store, place the chicken in an air-tight container and store it in the fridge for up to 4 days. Make sure to cool the chicken completely before slicing so they stay moist longer. You can also freeze the chicken for up to 3 months. Although, I suggest consuming within a month for the best flavour.
