Peppermint Bark

by Rebecca June 2, 2021

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook Time: 5 mins | Total Time: 15 mins | Yield: 24 servings

Whip this Peppermint Bark easily, no baking required. Made with only four ingredients and ready in just fifteen minutes, this treat is a must if you love peppermint and an easy & quick treat.

Peppermint Bark is a layer of melted dark and white chocolate with sprinkles of crushed peppermint candies broken into pieces. The perfect sweet treat for our sweet tooth. If you adore making holiday treats, you should give this recipe a try. So good and incredibly easy to throw together you’d be making this all year round! Have fun making this, play around with different combinations, or drizzle your extra melted chocolate on top for decoration before popping this in the fridge to set.

This has been one of my family’s go-to and favourite holiday desserts. Last Christmas, I made a bunch, packed them in cute jars, and gave them away. This treat will last for about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks in an airtight container on the counter. But I doubt if this will last that long once the kids started munching on these.

Ingredients

30 peppermint candies, crushed

1 1/2 lbs semi-sweet dark chocolate

1 1/2 lbs white chocolate

3/4 tsp peppermint extract

How to make Peppermint Bark

Step 1: Using parchment paper, line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. In a glass bowl, place the dark chocolate chips and melt in the microwave in 30-second increments until completely melted. Note to stir every about 90 seconds.

Step 2: Onto the prepared baking pan, pour the melted dark chocolate. Then, in the microwave, melt the white chocolate chips in 30-second increments until completely melted. Add the peppermint extract to the melted white chocolate, then very carefully and evenly pour this over the dark chocolate chips. Sprinkle the crushed candies on top, slightly pushing them in.

Step 3: Place in the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes until the bark has completely hardened.

Note:

For this recipe, feel free to use chocolate chips or melting chocolate.
