This wonderful Patti Labelle’s Macaroni and Cheese is the best I’ve ever tasted! My family’s favourite mac and cheese that anyone can easily whip up using simple ingredients. A must try and forever for keeps!

8 tbsp butter
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 pound macaroni
1⁄2 c. mild cheddar cheese, shredded
1⁄2 c. muenster cheese, shredded
1⁄2 c. Monterey jack cheese, shredded
1⁄2 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 c. half-and-half
2 Eggs, lightly beaten
8 oz. Velveeta cheese, cubed
1⁄8 tsp fresh ground pepper
1⁄4 tsp seasoning salt
HOW TO MAKE PATTI LABELLE’S MACARONI AND CHEESE
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Ready a deep 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Lightly grease with butter and set aside.
Step 2: Bring a large pot with water to a rapid boil, then add the macaroni and 1 tablespoon oil. Cook the macaroni for about 7 minutes or until almost tender. When done, drain well and place the macaroni back to the pot.
Step 3: In the meantime, melt 8 tbsp butter in a small saucepan. Once melted, add this into the macaroni and stir to coat.
Step 4: Mix all the shredded cheeses in a large bowl.
Step 5: Add 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheeses to the macaroni along with half-and-half, cubed cheese, eggs, and seasoned salt and pepper.
Step 6: To the prepared casserole dish, pour the mixture and top with the rest of the half cup shredded cheese. On top, do the rest of the 1 tbsp butter.
Step 7: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the macaroni and cheese for approximately 30 to 35 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and bubbly.
Step 8: Remove the macaroni and cheese from the oven when done and serve hot. Enjoy!
